Abstract
Colestipol is used to reduce the amount of cholesterol (a fat-like substance that can build up in blood vessels leading to heart attack or strokes or other medical conditions). Colestipol is in a class of medications termed as bile acid sequestrate. It demonstrates its activity by binding bile acids in your intestines to form a product that is eliminated from the body.
