Abstract

Lovastatin, a lipid-lowering medication in the statin drug class, is used to treat and prevent coronary heart disease, heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, hypercholesterolemia, and adolescents. This activity will clarify the mechanism of action, adverse effects, and other crucial elements (like off label uses, dosage, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, monitoring, and relevant interactions) that are pertinent to the interprofessional team members' treatment of patients with hypercholesterolemia.
