Integration of Production Management and Supply Chain Management: A Framework for Enhanced Operational Efficiency
Abstract
The integration of Production Management (PM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) has emerged as a critical strategy for improving organizational efficiency, reducing operational costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This paper explores the synergistic relationship between PM and SCM, emphasizing how coordinated planning, scheduling, and inventory control can optimize production processes and streamline the supply chain. A conceptual framework is proposed to facilitate the seamless integration of these domains, incorporating key performance indicators, information flow mechanisms, and resource optimization strategies. Case studies and industry examples are analyzed to highlight practical applications and the resulting impact on operational performance. The study demonstrates that integrating PM with SCM not only enhances productivity but also strengthens responsiveness to market demand and reduces supply chain vulnerabilities.
