How Has the Earth’s Climate Changed in the Past Few Decade
Abstract
Analysis of instrumental records indicates that global warming has accelerated, with the 2015-2024 period being the warmest decade on record. Over the past few decades, the Earth's climate has shifted with unprecedented speed. Since the 1980s, global temperatures have risen by roughly 205C per decade. Global surface temperatures have risen approximately 1.42'C above pre-industrial levels, with significant acceleration occurring post-2015. The ten warmest years on record have all occurred within the last ten years. Ocean heat content has reached record highs as seas absorb excess thermal energy. This warming has triggered a sharp acceleration in the melting of polar ice sheets. The findings confirm that oceans are absorbing over 90% of excess heat, leading to record-high ocean heat content, accelerated glacier melt, and rising sea levels.
