Design and Analysis of Single Point Cutting Tools
Abstract
Single point cutting tools are essential in machining processes, particularly in turning operations where precision and efficiency are critical. This paper explores the design parameters of single point cutting tools, including tool geometry, material selection, and cutting-edge modifications. The study investigates the impact of rake angle, relief angle, nose radius, and tool material on cutting performance, tool wear, and surface finish. Finite element analysis (FEA) and experimental validation are employed to optimize tool design for enhanced durability and machining efficiency. The findings provide valuable insights into improving tool life and machining accuracy for various industrial applications.
