Emerging Technologies And The Crisis Of Legal Adaptation
Abstract
This paper examines the impact of emerging technologies and the legal challenges associated with their rapid development in India and across the world. Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Biotechnology, and Big Data Analytics are transforming industries, governance, healthcare, education, and communication systems. However, the growth of these technologies has created significant legal and ethical concerns related to privacy, accountability, intellectual property rights, cybersecurity, and regulatory enforcement. The study is based on qualitative analysis using secondary data collected from academic journals, government reports, policy documents, and case studies. The findings reveal that existing legal frameworks are often unable to keep pace with technological innovation, resulting in regulatory gaps and risks of misuse. Issues such as AI bias, cross-border cybercrime, blockchain anonymity, and ethical dilemmas in biotechnology highlight the urgent need for adaptive and technology-oriented laws. The paper concludes that effective regulation, international cooperation, and ethical governance are essential to ensure that technological advancement promotes innovation while protecting justice, privacy, and public welfare
