A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on Knowledge Regarding Management and Prevention of Febrile Seizure in Children Among Mothers of Children Between the Age of 0-3 Years
Abstract
The results revealed that 6.67% mothers have adequate knowledge, 73.33% have moderate knowledge and 20% have poor knowledge regarding febrile seizure in pre-test. The results of the post-test revealed that 94% had acceptable knowledge, 6% had intermediate knowledge, and none had poor knowledge. Paired‘t’ test showed that there was a significant improvement between pre-test and post-test knowledge with ‘t’ value of 1.67 Correlation of improvement of knowledge and structured teaching programme revealed that there is positive correlation between the knowledge and structured teaching programme, the r value was 0.8. Chi- Square test revealed that there was significant association between post-test levels of knowledge with selected demographic variables.
