Research on Paralysis Patient Monitoring System

Parag Chaudhary, Pradnya D, Anand Krishnan, R. Rabiya

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of paralysis among pati- ents necessitates the development of advanced moni- toring systems to enhance patient care and reduce the burden on healthcare providers. This research paper discusses the design and implementation of a smart hospital bed integrated with various sensors to moni- tor the health and movements of paralyzed patients. By leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the system provides real-time data collection, modeling, profiling, and appropriate actions to ensure timely in- tervention and efficient patient care. The smart bed utilizes sensors to monitor vital signs such as tem- perature, pulse, and movement, and alerts caregivers via text messages and buzzers in case of emergencies. The proposed solution aims to be cost-effective and precise, making it suitable for both hospital and home care settings, thereby improving the quality of life for paralyzed patients and easing the workload of caregi- vers.
