DRIVE NOW - Online Vehicle Rental System

Abstract


This paper presents the development of a fully functional web-based Vehicle Rental System aimed at streamlining the process of booking vehicles for short-term use. The system supports multiple categories including cars, bikes, and electric vehicles, with availability dynamically managed in real-time. Designed with a modern and responsive frontend using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the platform incorporates dark mode, smooth scroll animations, parallax effects, and intuitive layout elements for enhanced user interaction. The backend, built using PHP and MySQL, handles core functionalities such as user bookings, vehicle status updates, and data handling. Key features include OTP-based mobile number verification (without database storage), clearly displayed vehicle details with dynamic 'Book Now' or 'Unavailable' buttons, and the ability to select pickup and drop-off points. The admin panel provides basic oversight of system activity and booking records. This solution caters to users who lack personal vehicles, face temporary unavailability, or seek efficient travel options. By combining user-friendly design with real-time system functionality, the project demonstrates a practical, scalable, and efficient approach to digital mobility services, with potential for future enhancements such as return scheduling and mobile application support.
