Smart Grocery Manager with Ai-Based Receipe Recommender

R.Kanishka Raj, R. Pushpakumari

Abstract

Food waste is a major global issue caused by improper grocery tracking and forgotten expiry dates. Most households still rely on manual checking of products, which often leads to spoilage, unnecessary purchases, and financial loss. To address this problem, this project presents a Smart Grocery Management System that intelligently monitors grocery items and notifies users before items expire. The system allows users to add products with their expiry dates and categorizes them for easy access. It continuously tracks item status and generates timely alerts to reduce food wastage. Additionally, the system recommends recipes using items that are close to expiry, ensuring maximum utilization of groceries. A simple and interactive interface helps users view item lists, waste reports, and consumption progress in real time. By automating grocery management and providing smart suggestions, this solution improves household efficiency, reduces food waste, and encourages sustainable living.
