Abstract
Pitavastatin is a medication used to treat and control hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia. It is a member of the class of drugs called statins. The action, indications, and contraindications of pitavastatin as a helpful drug for the treatment of dyslipidemia are explained in this activity. The mechanism of action, adverse event profile, dosage, pharmacokinetics, monitoring, and relevant interactions will be highlighted in this session to assist interprofessional team members in managing patients with dyslipidemia and related disorders.
