A Review Paper of Design and Implementation of A Three-Phase Transmission Line Fault Detection And Protection Using Arduino

Prof. Tanushree Patel, Shivshankar Farkade, Aakash Dhandede

Abstract

Frequent faults in power grids emphasize the importance of strengthening transmission line protection. This study introduces an Arduino-based fault detection framework designed to enhance both reliability and safety. The approach employs current transformers to monitor fluctuations and uses impedance-based measurements to pinpoint fault locations. Additionally, sound sensors are incorporated to broaden the detection capability. Once a fault is identified, the Arduino activates alarms, presents real-time status updates on an LCD, and is capable of sending SMS notifications. By enabling quick fault recognition and response, the system minimizes downtime. Moreover, the affordability of Arduino makes this solution practical for improving the dependability and safety of power transmission lines.
