4-BIT Full Swing GDI Technique Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU)
Abstract
This paper presents the layout of a 4-bit mathematic logic unit (ALU) using the concept of the gate diffusion input (GDI) technique. The most important and intermediate component of a central processing unit, as well as the most common component of embedded systems and microprocessors, is the ALU. To accomplish logic operations, this ALU is made up of a 4x1 multiplexer, a 2x1 multiplexer, and an occasional power complete adder. In order to understand ALU, full adders and multiplexers are designed using complete swing GDI cells. The DSCH3.5 and Mircowind3.five simulators are used to carry out the simulation. The utilization of 65nm technologies is compared with earlier designs that were discovered using pass transistor and CMOS common sense.
