Gestalt theory and its application in Architectural marvels
Abstract
Gestalt theory also known as gestaltism is derived from a German word meaning shape or form. The theory is evolved from the Berlin School of experimental psychology. The interpretation if the Gestalt theory in a simple one-liner is organizing the chaos. This theory talks about the human mind that perceives various independent parts or pieces into one global whole. Kurt Koffka a Gestalt psychologist phrases up the theory as – “The whole is other than the sum of the parts”. The theory also speaks about the individual parts put together might not be greater than the entire picture but definitely is different from the complete picture.
