Abstract

This study employs ArcGIS technology to monitor air quality in Gorakhpur city, aiming to assess spatial variations and identify potential sources of pollution. Data from air quality monitoring stations, satellite imagery, and demographic information are integrated into GIS to create spatially explicit maps of air pollutants. Statistical analysis and spatial interpolation techniques are utilized to analyze the data and identify hotspots of pollution. The results reveal significant spatial variations in air quality across different zones of the city, with industrial and vehicular emissions emerging as primary contributors to pollution. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and urban planners to develop targeted interventions for improving air quality and public health in Gorakhpur city.
