Enhancing Electric Vehicle Battery Performance: Characteristics and Innovative Modifications

Abstract


Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly popular as part of a global effort to reduce carbon emissions and rely less on fossil fuels. At the core of EVs is battery technology, which dictates the range, performance, and efficiency of these vehicles. This paper examines the primary characteristics of various EV battery types, addressing their advantages, limitations, and how they can be modified to improve performance. Emphasis is placed on modifications in materials, battery management, and thermal control systems that can enhance energy density, cycle life, safety, and cost efficiency. The paper concludes with insights into potential future battery technologies and the significance of sustainable practices, including recycling and second-life applications.
