AI Chatbot for College Enquiries

Abstract

College life is full of questions from admissions to fees, from attendance to exam dates, and from classroom locations to details about events. Even though this information exists, students often end up confused, searching multiple webpages, or waiting in long queues just to get one small doubt cleared. This project was built around a simple thought: What if students had someone they could talk to instantly, any time of the day, without depending on office hours or staff availability?To address this, we developed a conversational AI chatbot specifically designed to handle college-related enquiries. Instead of browsing endless menus or scrolling through PDF documents, students can simply ask the chatbot what they need, just like they would message a friend. The system is built using Natural Language Processing (NLP), which helps it understand everyday language even misspelled or incomplete sentences.The chatbot provides information about attendance, fees, mentors, timetables, academic calendars, events, classroom directions, IA marks, and much more. It aims to make communication in colleges faster, simpler, and more friendly. From early testing, we noticed a big improvement in how quickly students received answers, and staff felt less burdened with repetitive questions. In short, the chatbot brings a small but meaningful change: it makes essential information easy, instant, and accessible for everyone.
