Fluidics-Based Component Sorting
Abstract
For the sake of convenience, the process of sorting the items is an essential one that is performed in numerous areas of daily life. Sorting was mostly done by hand and was based on human judgments until recently. The more cost-effective and practical method of automation is the sorting system. The primary objective of a sorting system is to reduce labor costs while simultaneously improving product quality and efficiency. The majority of sorting systems currently employ criteria like color, dimensions, material type, and so on. However, environmental sensitivity, high cost, and complexity are just a few of their disadvantages. Weight is used as a sorting criterion in the proposed sorting system in this paper. The mechanical and electronic components of the manufactured machine are intended to be utilized through mutual coordination. The arrangement of load cells occupies a leading position within the system. Based on the weight of the items, this sorting system provides a precise, dependable, consistent, and quantitative sorting.
The process of designing an automated sorting machine with a conveyor belt to meet the needs of the manufacturing industry in numerous fields is extremely complicated. The system needs to meet the needs of the industry. This application is based on industrial automation. It demonstrates the basic idea of a conveyor belt with some intelligence. Because it can also sort objects of varying sizes, we can also refer to it as an intelligent conveyor belt. Size malfunctions in production machines can be avoided thanks to this. The sensors sort the objects according to size after passing through a variety of sizes. Drive controller controls the drive circuit, which drives the belt. Since these sorting systems have taken the place of human resources, the manufacturing industry's production rate has increased as a result of the development of such a system. Additionally, accidents in the manufacturing sector can be avoided because fewer operators are employed on the manufacturing floor.
