Multilingual Chatbot for Government Schemes

Preethi R, Meena Kumari V, Nikyn VS, Ramchandar V V, Mohanrajadurai N

Abstract

Government welfare schemes aim to help citizens from different socio-economic backgrounds. However, many people face challenges such as lack of awareness, language barriers, and complicated paperwork. These issues often stop individuals, especially in rural and multilingual areas, from accessing these schemes. This paper suggests a Multilingual Chatbot Framework that helps citizens understand, check their eligibility for, and apply to government programs in their preferred regional language. The system uses Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Translation, and Dialog Management to offer personalized, conversational support. Features like real-time voice and text interaction, guidance specific to each scheme, and live updates from government databases promote inclusivity, accessibility, and transparency.
