NEUROPHARMACOLOGICAL POTENTIAL OF QUERCETIN AND GLYCOSIDE DERIVATIVES
Abstract
Quercetin, a naturally occurring bioactive flavonoid found abundantly in numerous plants and fruits, exhibits a wide range of pharmacological activities in preclinical studies targeting various illnesses and conditions. Research on quercetin and its subordinates in nervous system science related conditions has prevalently zeroed in on regions, for example, redox stress, neuroinflammation, and flagging pathways. However, the specific impact of quercetin and its derivatives on molecular targets like nuclear receptors and proinflammatory mediators remains largely unexplored. Nevertheless, findings suggest that the therapeutic potential of quercetin and its derivatives against psychological and neurodegenerative disorders stems from their interactions with diverse molecular targets.
