Fire alarm application based on PIN Diode

Nikhil Rathod, Mayuri ., Zaid Imran, Noel ., Basavanand .

Abstract

Fire accidents cause significant loss of life and property every year. Traditional fire detection systems are often expensive, complex, or lack sensitivity. This project presents a low-cost, efficient fire detection system using a PIN photodiode that detects the infrared (IR) radiation emitted by flames. The system includes a comparator circuit and a transistor switch to trigger a buzzer alarm when fire is detected. The design is simple, economical, and effective for early fire detection in residential and small industrial settings. It offers a scalable solution for real-time fire monitoring and can be enhanced with IoT capabilities for future applications.
