Development of a Vehicle Tracker Using Sms Alerts System with Google Map Links
Abstract
This paper presents development of a vehicle location tracking device using SMS alerts. By employing the use of a GPS module, a GSM Module and Atmega328p Microcontroller, this system automatically detects and sends the location (longitude and latitude) values of the vehicle in form of a Short Message System (SMS) to a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) number with a link to locate it on the Google map. The system uses Global System Mobile network to send the SMS to the registered number and it is effective, easy to use and considerably cheap to operate and manage.
